Xylitol, the Deadly Sweetener!

We are told that Xylitol (E967) is healthy, it’s NOT!

If reading food labels is part of your shopping experience, you’ve probably seen the ingredient “xylitol” coming up and more and more the past couple years. Reported by most manufactures as being “all natural,” few suspect it’s anything but healthy. Unfortunately, natural doesn’t always mean “non-toxic”.

As you can read in my previous post >> some E numbers in food could be really dangerous for your body and still we are not aware of that, cause we are told it’s good for the body. But it’s just good business. Making money and profit is all that counts these days and it’s time we start being aware of that or we might not get that old anymore.

Lately all i hear about it cancer and diseases.......it’s really something to think i about and i did. I banned all processed food from my diet and started eating with awareness.
Since i do that, i feel much fitter, more awake, and have less body problems.

So, what is Xylitol?

Xylitol is a sugar alcohol, which is a low-digestible carbohydrate that resists starches and includes fiber. Recently gaining ground in many health circles because of the claim that sugar alcohols are “natural,” other varieties you’ve probably seen in the stores include:
  • Erythritol
  • Isomalt
  • Lactitol
  • Maltitol
  • Mannitol
  • Sorbitol
“Though XYLITOL is affirmed generally Recognized as Safe (GRAS) under COSMETIC LAW, it is NOT GRAS under food or beverage law. Xylitol is NOT from “birch bark,” as (falsely) claimed, but rather derived from chemically refined and/or genetically modified corn. Xylitol is highly diarrhea inducing and is also linked to humans’ intestinal cancer. Who should be consuming Xylitol (even if spit out in toothpaste or chewing gum or mints?)

“Artificial sweeteners may cause metabolic changes in how the body reacts to real sugar, according to a study conducted by researchers from the National Institute of Diabetes and Digestive and Kidney Diseases.” Another scary thought. While we think of artificial sweeteners as “diet” sweeteners, they might actually CAUSE weight gain. Let me know what you think after reading this: Pubmed article.

Xylitol is >> DEADLY TO DOGS.
It only takes a small amount of xylitol to kill a dog.

We’ve been led to believe that “sugar” is bad for us. But here’s the thing: real sugars like those found in RAW sugar cane, maple trees, and fruits that are made by God/Mother Nature actually contain nutrients. I don’t think those sugars can be compared to man-made-refined-white-sugar-made-from-GMO-beets that is chemically processed and do not contain nutrients. Real foods satisfy cravings because our bodies can recognize their nutrients.

So, if your are smart, stick to natural sugars and stay healthy.
I always say : Less is More. Eat just enough, and try to make as much as you can yourself.

Respect what Mother Earth has given you and stay away from chemical experimented stuff.

  1. Nowadays everything we eat natural or artificial is not good for us and our bodies, all of them come with their plethora of problems. We should be very careful of all that we eat.
